Dear All, As per enclosed publication of the U.P. State Tax / Commercial Tax Department, it has been made mandatory w.e.f. 01.11.2018 for all the vehicles which are transporting the goods anywhere in the State of U.P., for which e.Way Bill generation is mandatory before starting the journey, to get RFID TAG embedded on their windscreen and get it mapped with GST e.Way Bill System. Violation of the above may attract, action under GST Act: U/s 129 & 130 – Seizure of goods and vehicle and Penalty. Provision assessment, fine, penalty under other sections of the GST Act. The windscreen of the vehicles which are already embedded with “FAS TAG” need not get the RFID TAG embedded but the “FAS TAG” must be mapped with GST e.Way Bill System. U.P. State undertaking “U.P. DESCO” has been nominated as the acting authority for the distribution of the RFID and mapping with GST e.Way Bill System. The distribution and mapping of the RFID TAG has been started at a nominal fee of Rs.100/- per TAG/VEHICLE.
